Roam, If You Want To

I think I have finally looked through all my photos and videos from my travels to Zimbabwe and Portugal. It's been a monumental effort. Me-'Hey, that will make a great pic. But why take one when I can have 45 iterations of it?' The problem lies in that they all are just a tiny bit different, so I have to check each and every one. ADD and OCD are a wicked pair when they work in conjunction.

It's the second day of my journey into another year on this crazy planet, and over a week since I returned from my travels. I used to travel a lot when I was young and I was usually prepared for anything. I am woefully inadequate in that department now. Thankfully, my friend, Lee, was on it. She had all the info and the gadgets we needed. Now I know why I was married. I needed someone to pay attention to all the stuff that I apparently don't even ponder.

Lee and I left Raleigh on Mar 23 at 6:15 am. Yay! Nothing like starting a day that early and not ending that day until March 24, after two connections, one international in Addis Ababa (I think that Addis Ababa is fun to say. And I just discovered it's fun to type as well) and no sleep for 34 hours. We knew how to get this party started though, and that's what we did-

It was still morning when the shenanigans began.

Arriving at Harare, Zimbabwe Airport. Lee looks great; I, on the other hand, resemble a vagabond looking for spare change.

I was mesmerized by these trees! Bright orange flowers. I heard it was a Tulip tree. Any ideas?

Our hosts at Mount Pleasant B&B in Harere.

The lovely, smiling gentleman drove me to a market so I could look for almond milk, which he thought sounded made up. I actually did find it, surprisingly, and I told him to pick something out and I'd get it for him. I'm not sure if it was a beer or some kind of ginger drink, but either way, he was happy so it was all good.

Tomorrow, we head to Imire Rhino Conservancy.

The fabulous B-52's singing the fabulous track, 'Roam'. Roam if you want to, indeed.
