A-Camping We Will Go!

Our inaugural motorhome trip has come and gone. We are all still alive and nothing caught fire, which for me is a major accomplishment. Our trip was a trial to make sure we could figure out how everything works and, other than me getting thrown into the bathroom shower while we were moving down the highway (note to self: if you have to pee, wait until we stop) and getting matching bruises on both sides of my arms from bouncing off things (another note to self: just sit down), it was a smashing success.

The copilot made sure we got there by checking her DPS. (Dobby Positioning System)

We headed to the Outer Banks, and stayed in an old haunt of mine, Frisco Woods in Avon, NC. I spent many a tipsy, mosquito bitten Memorial Day weekend in the woods there back in my rowdier days. Now that I am older and (semi) wiser, I chose a sound-side spot and luxuriated in air-conditioned and mosquito-free nights.

The dogs enjoyed it, although they did not like the water. It’s kind of embarrassing to have two water phobic dogs. It’s like jock parents having kids who only like to stay indoors and read. You still love them just the same, but how is it even possible?
Also, Chloe barfed on me on the way there. Dramamine will be a staple on our trips from now on.
That’s all for now, other than a few more pics …

hey, goodlucky!! (I'm changing your name for this post) You, J, L, and your dogs are amazing! That spot (Frisco Woods??) might just get even more popular when this gets out. Beautiful pictures, thanks.
