I See Trouble On the Way

It’s Sunday, November 1, 2020.
I know Biden is going to win. I'm optimistic about the Senate as well.

What I am not optimistic about is that the next few months will be even remotely peaceful. Why? Below are just a few examples that are causing me worry. We saw trump supporters brazenly surrounding Biden's bus as it was on its way to a rally, going as far as to ram a car in the caravan following the bus.
We saw it on the Mario Cuomo bridge outside of New York City, with cars and trucks blocking the entire highway and creating a traffic jam for hours.
We saw a peaceful march to the polls in North Carolina turn into a pepper spray and arrest event against the marchers. There was no violence perpetrated by anyone except the police. A 5-year-old child was one of the victims.
We saw it when a group of men plotted to kidnap and KILL the Governor of Michigan.
We heard the President tell a right wing militia group to ‘stand back and stand by’ after he was asked to denounce the group.
Trump's followers are committing these acts with malicious glee, and for that they are praised by the president.
We see trump say that our election is rife with fraud because he knows he’s going to lose. When the votes are counted and trump has lost, his supporters will refuse to acknowledge the decision. He's made sure of that.
I want to enjoy the coming victory, but clearly, as Creedence Clearwater Revival so succinctly sang- 'I see a bad moon rising, I see trouble on the way'. I hope there will be a peaceful transfer of power and that we can leave leave this shitstorm that is 2020 behind, along with the entire four years we have been forced to endure, but I don't see that happening. I hope we all come out on the other side, relatively unscathed, but for now, buckle up everyone; I believe we are in for an extremely bumpy ride.
'Bad Moon Rising'. Indeed.
