Signed, Sealed, Delivered...It's Mine!

Next door to my mom’s house sits 1.6 acres of land that has been vacant for the past 30 years. My parents ex-neighbor on the other side purchased it on the same day my dad decided to buy it as it was adjacent to my parent’s property. I think that was the beginning of the feud they had for decades. I’m not sure if the neighbor knew he was part of the feud, but my dad kept that sucker alive with a vengeance. A few weeks before the neighbor fell out of his outdoor elevator and died, my dad wished out loud that the man would just die. Until my father passed, he got a macabre kick out of insisting he was so powerful that he was able to kill the neighbor with his words.

The property has mainly been used for deer to romp through at night and for my dogs to go to the bathroom. Today, I bought that parcel of grass and poop! Oh yeah, it is also a waterfront property, so there is that little bonus.

Now, what to do with my little piece of the world, just waiting to be flooded during this season’s hurricanes? It’s the perfect place to be right now with the coronavirus spreading to all parts of the world. My own safe zone.

My reasons for buying this land? Now no one else can buy and build there. My mom and I now have our own little enclave at the end of the world. Also, I can now swim naked in our pool to my heart’s content because there will be no one who can see me- not that I really care, but spouse has an issue with that so, issue solved!

I’m not planning on building anything, other than a garden and a butterfly ecosystem. If anyone has any other sweet ideas, let me know. Until then, I will be wandering around, prospecting for things that may have washed up on the property during last year’s storms.
